“We as a nation are asleep, we need to ‘awaken’”
Pakistan –land of the pure or land of the dead?
Synopsis:
Over the years, Pakistan has often been labeled as one of the most dangerous and unstable countries in the world. Critics even go on to question its sovereignty and future. Clichéd responses to these criticisms have been that we as a nation are disunited, that we need to awaken to confront these issues.
However, although the nature of these internal and external challenges is becoming more and more complex with each passing moment, the capable people of our nation remain unaffected. It seems that the idea of stepping up to do one’s bit towards a collective change remains unattainable.
This thesis seeks to go a step further and exhibit the claim that we, as a nation in its entirety are dead; that our persistent failure to rise and address these audacious assaults on our sovereignty personifies our demise. We ourselves endorse these accusations by our indifference and by accepting and becoming immune, to the lawlessness, injustice, violence and oppression.
